As ever, a really good week for our extended family, Although not wall to wall sun, we were on the beach at Poldhu or Polurrian every day. Thanks for the welcome gifts.
Mr AK Liverpool / August 2024
We have enjoyed the peace of this house and being together as a family here. The Lizard peninsula is stunning with beautiful light and a glorious coastline. The children have enjoyed the garden and it's been altogether very restorative for all us us.
Mrs CQ Manchester / August 2024
We love staying here. It's our home from home. Luckily the weather was (mostly) very good. Crazy surf midweek but so much fun. Thanks Keith & Phyllis.

What a fantastic house in the perfect location. We enjoyed trips to the Lizard, St Ives, Newquay & Lands End, as well as chilling in your beautiful garden. Hope to come back soon.
Ms AS Hackney / August 2024
Despite not being able to take the full week of work, I had an amazing time working from this beautiful house with all I needed and then joining the kids at the beach, for a sunset cliff walkor even post-work golf at Helston! Felt like home from home and a real rest. Highly recommend walking to the southerly point cafe, and pasties ordered from Gear Farm. Thank you Lower Redenek.
Ms SJ Portbury / August 2024
This is a lovely spacious house which we enjoyed spending Christmas in. The conservatory catches the morning sun, the living room with real fire is cosy and the kitchen is well equipped. The garden is spacious and would be very safe for children to play in. We enjoyed afternoon tea at the Polurian Hotel overlooking the windy waves and a lovely cosy meal in The Old Inn. Mullion also has two well stocked supermarkets near the house. Communication with Keith was excellent.
Mrs JJ Surrey Christmas 2023

Another fantastic visit - thank you for making us feel so welcome. Until the next time.
Ms SD Bristol. October 2022
We had the most wonderful holiday at Lower Redenek as a family of 4. The property and gardens were beautifully presented and well maintained. There were ample utensils and kitchenware with a plethora of games to choose from for all the family. We haven’t experienced views of the night sky as clear and stunning since visiting Egypt years ago – seeing the milky way so clearly and numerous shooting stars was an experience in itself. The local beach, and beaches around the Lizard were beautiful, and North Cornwall is within easy reach also. To top it off we had the most wonderful host in Keith, whose communications were excellent throughout, and knowledge of the surrounding areas and local restaurants is second-to-none. Thank you Keith and Phyllis!
Ms NH Kettering. Aug/September 2022
Another good week here, it is a wonderful family house and we always look forward to returning. Thank you.

Mrs LR. Plymouth. August 2022
The bungalow is in a great location - a short walk to the local shops and cafes in Mullion but down a very quiet lane. The bungalow itself is roomy, well-equipped and comfortable. The garden is great - very spacious, (so would be ideal for kids to use up their energy in), lovely springy grass and smashing views across the fields to the hills. The stars at night were fantastic - it's the first time in my life that I have clearly seen the Milky Way.

It is extremely well equipped and this was greatly appreciated. I don’t think we have ever stayed anywhere that is so well equipped.

A truly wonderful week in beautiful Cornwall and in such a lovely house. This has been so special after such a difficult 17 months and this is the first time our two families have been under one roof in what feels like forever! A wonderful base for exploring beaches, swimming and cliff top walks. Very comfortable and well equipped.

Fantastic for families, a comfortable and spacious home from home. We have been lucky enough to enjoy several holidays at Lower Redenek in recent years and I couldn't recommend it more highly. It's spacious and comfortable, fantastic for families (there are toys, indoor and outdoor games, books and DVDs to entertain all ages) and has much to offer during both summer (see the fabulous garden) and winter (wonderfully cosy fireplace)! Location wise it's hard to beat, with stunning Cornish beaches, great restaurants and all manner of local attractions on the doorstep. It's a very special place.

Mullion, located on the Lizard peninsula, is Cornwall’s largest village and has an assortment of shops, including a Spa and Co-op with Post Office, two pubs and a Fish & Chip shops. In the centre of the village, the 15th-century church of St Mellanus (described in the Mullion & Lizard Peninsula section below). Just over a mile away, is the picturesque Mullion Cove (owned by the National Trust) with a small beach and unusual rock formations. This working harbour with its strong sea walls sheltering a small fishing fleet from powerful westerly storms. At low tide, there is a mysterious cave to explore where waves often crash through from the seaward entrance.
Marking the spot where the first transatlantic radio transmission was made in 1901, the Marconi Monument can be seen at the cliff’s edge, close to Poldhu beach with its sandy beach and excellent beach café and car park. Poldhu has become a favourite spot for surfers and has Lifeguard cover at popular times. There is also a surf school, where surf boards can be hired. Between Poldhu & Mullion Cove is the sandy Polurrian Cove, which can only be reached on foot. Mullion Golf Club with its fantastic panoramic view of Mounts Bay, is just 2 miles away.
Approximately 7 miles north from Mullion is the former stannary and cattle market town of Helston, which is best known for the annual Furry Dance (known locally as the Flora Dance and held in May), and where tin ore was once extracted and sent to the nearby port of Porthleven. Porthleven has an inner harbour to protect the variety of boats from stormy seas. Porthleven has many shops, art galleries and gift shops as well as several excellent restaurants.
To the south of Mullion is Kynance Cove (the peninsula’s best-known beach), which is characterised by impressive cliffs, offshore islands and displays stacks and arches of serpentine rock. 3 miles further south is the Lizard point, owned by the National Trust. The point is the most southerly point in the UK and the dramatic cliffs have been shaped by the Atlantic. The Lizard features white beaches, turquoise seas with seals sunning themselves on the rocks, a beautiful display of wildflowers in the spring and, of course, the Cornish Chuff has been successfully re-introduction to the area.
Inland from Mullion, is the Helford estuary an idyllic mixture of isolated woodland, secluded creeks, rich farmland and semi-tropical gardens. It has long been recognised for its scenic beauty, but it is also a wonderful natural habitat with several protected areas. Mullion is also a perfect base for the towns of Falmouth, Penzance & St. Ives and the National Trust gardens of Glendurgan, Trenwaignton & Trelissick.
